Community Outreach Coordinator - Hospice Medicare Certified

PeaceHealth is seeking a Community Outreach Coordinator - Hospice Medicare Certified for a 0.5 full time equivalent Exempt position. This position will be working Variable shift with shift durations of Variable.

JOB SUMMARY

The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the planning, implementation and tracking of community events and activities, provider outreach efforts, local sponsorships coordination, liaison with hospital service-lines and community stakeholders as it pertains to events planning, sponsorship involvement and other outreach activities.  This position is responsible for ensuring the PeaceHealth brand is appropriately extended to all outreach efforts. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Responsible for the planning and execution of community outreach and educational events including but not limited to health fairs, consumer education events, fun runs/walks, anniversary celebrations, open houses, speakers bureaus, “talk with a doctor” events, consumer targeted health symposiums, etc.  Develop strategies and tactics, working closely with event customers to identify strategic/practical needs for each event and recommend options for meeting those needs.
  2. Responsible for provider, broker, and employer outreach efforts including continuing education activities of which may require certification.  This may include but is not limited to continuing education events, provider symposiums, etc.
  3. Responsible for ensuring consistency and impact of the brand presence for PeaceHealth through appropriately branded and displayed banners, signage, caregiver apparel, display boards, giveaways, survey forms, presentation materials, handouts, etc.
  4. Prepare preliminary budgets of estimated expenses and projected income for each project and ensure approved budgets are met as executed.
  5. Develop and monitor highly detailed work plans, schedules and budgets for all aspects of events.  Obtain customer and director approval.  Maintain records for archival and follow up by others. 
  6. Coordinate with key stakeholders for internal communication and media notification about planned special events and/or sponsorships with local communications specialists to ensure events are appropriately communicated and ensure special events are appropriately promoted through targeted channels and within scope of allotted budget
  7. Coordinate measurement evaluation efforts as it relates to provider and consumer outreach activities to ensure efforts are effectively supporting marketing objectives including but not limited to increasing patient volume, improving provider engagement and referrals, etc.
  8. Maintain positive relationships with community, volunteers, medical staff and caregivers. 
  9. Assist with curriculum and communication material development, room reservations, and catering for events, course offerings and classes.  Maintains website for course offerings.
  10. Responsible for the simultaneous management of multiple projects. 
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:     

  • Associate’s degree in marketing, business administration, or related field is required or equivalent education and/or experience.

 

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:              

  • A minimum of three years marketing experience with a minimum of two years in a health care environment preferred; solid understanding of marketing applications in a health care provider setting.

OTHER SKILLS:  

  • Solid understanding of marketing applications in a health care provider setting
  • Proficient with computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficient writing skills to communicate to internal and external customers and assist with copy writing as needed
  • Knowledge of the health care delivery system; hospital and community-based
  • Proven ability to synthesize multi-source data into actionable information
  • Excellent communication skills including writing and presenting using computer based applications
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities in an effective manner
  • Ability to deal with complex organizational environments; high tolerance for ambiguity and change
  • High level of project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to establish credibility and forge lasting relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to garner support and engagement within the across stakeholder groups, both internal and external
  • Successful project management, organizational skills and presentation abilities to emcee/host special events is required.
