Director of Supply Chain

PeaceHealth is seeking a Director of Supply Chain for a 1.0 full time equivalent Exempt position. This position will be working Day shift with shift durations of 8 Hours.

Directs, controls and is accountable for supply chain operations for the Network.  Develops long and short term business strategies, operational plans and oversees implementation.  Manages the design, structure, development and planning issues within scope of direction.  Responsible for quality, service and regulatory compliance for areas of responsibility. Responsible for effective and efficient operation of department, identifies areas of potential savings, implements and provides input on system-wide initiatives.  Organizes and facilitates supply chain management, act as an agent for change, work with departments to achieve cost optimization and consolidation of supplies, providing leadership in evaluating new opportunities and current operations to assure alignment with PeaceHealth Mission and Values providing the highest quality supplies at the lowest cost.




  1. Serves on Value Analysis Committees and system-wide committees for the review of materials resources and advises leadership on purchasing, contracts, inventory control and other materials related items.  Implement a strategy to achieve appropriate management of reporting savings.
  2. Maintains good vendor relations, serve as a liaison between customers and supplies to assure cost-effectiveness, acting as an agent for the organization. 
  3. Establishes and maintains efficient, customer focused and accurate ordering, receiving, stocking, distribution and inventory control systems.  
  4. Oversees all Supply Chain functions within their assigned Network distribution processes.
  5. Supervises the delivery system and ensures the timely and accurate delivery of goods and information.
  6. Supports supply chain products and services contracting, including implementation and service level agreements where applicable.
  7. May be responsible for oversight and management of laundry, mailroom, courier or other services.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.





  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training and experience.  Masters degree is preferred.



  • Minimum of 7 years of healthcare experience with emphasis in medical supplies, supply chain, or purchasing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience required.



  • Ability to deliver financial results for areas of accountability and for supply expense for Network.
  • Computer experience is required: proficient with MS Office applications. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills are required.
  • Technical competence in core materials management functions including procurement, distribution and logistics is preferred.



  • Work requires extreme, active physical exertion less than 33% of the time.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 80 lbs. or less.
  • Work may require occasional exposure to minor cold and heat in an uncontrolled outside environment but is mostly performed under normal working conditions with adequate lighting and ventilation.
  • Job duties frequently require intense concentration and attention to detail (less than 34% of work time).
  • May be required to operate motor vehicle on roadways up to 25% of each day.
