Manager Behavioral Health Operations

PeaceHealth is seeking a Manager Behavioral Health Operations for a 1.0 full time equivalent Exempt position. This position will be working Day shift with shift durations of 8 Hours.

JOB SUMMARY

Manages the coordination of the activities of a business unit or department with responsibility for results including costs, methods, and staffing.  Responsible for operational performance, quality, service environment and regulatory compliance.  Receives assignment in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.

 

Responsible for the development and leadership of the unique operational supports required for outpatient behavioral health services with periodic primary assignments on focused projects and implementation of new delivery methods.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Works collaboratively with VPs, directors, managers, Behavioral Health (BH) service line leadership, support service departments, and providers to establish effective and efficient processes to support the transformation of community based care for those that PHMG serves with mental illness.
  2. Facilitates and manages the implementation and monitoring of programs to achieve and maintain compliance, maximize access, and identify and monitor standard processes for effective, efficient and consistent implementation and execution within operations.
  3. Primary responsibility for oversight of assurance of attention to the implementation of programs and processes to meet the current and evolving BH service line requirements and access appropriate resources for stakeholder involvement and effective clinical process alignment.
  4. Builds and maintains excellent working relationships with all providers, managers, and staff with a focus on ensuring competency, compassion, and patient centeredness.
  5. Provides analytical and technical support for projects as required for effective implementation.
  6. Supervises or delegates supervision for all assigned caregivers.  Is responsible for providing them with overall direction, coordination and evaluation in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

  • Master’s degree in related field of study required.

 

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

  • Minimum of five years of related experience with at least three years’ clinical experience in a Behavioral Health ambulatory care environment.
  • Minimum of two years of leadership experience required with at least one year of experience in ambulatory care required.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects, hardwiring clinical improvements and collaborative leadership preferred.

 

LICENSE / CERTIFICATION:

  • Valid applicable state driver’s license and can meet criteria for insurance coverage.

 

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS/ ABILITIES:

  • Ability to deliver financial results for areas of accountability.
  • Demonstrated leadership using collaborative processes.
  • Evidence of intense and successful collaboration with providers.
  • Broad knowledge of behavioral health clinic operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex tasks in a dynamic and evolving environment.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.

 

PHMG PHYSICAL / COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:

  •  Work requires fairly light physical exertion up to 33% of the time.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 30 lbs. or less.
  • Work requires frequent exposure to conditions involving minor cold, heat, poor ventilation or sharp instruments such as syringes or lancets. Reasonably anticipated exposure to blood and body fluids once per month or more.
  • Job duties frequently require intense concentration and attention to detail (34-65% of work time).
