PeaceHealth is seeking a Director Facilities - SHMC RB for a 1.0 full time equivalent Exempt position. This position will be working Day shift with shift durations of Variable.

Plans, organizes and directs the efficient utilization of facilities management resources, staff, facilities and equipment.  Responsible for maintenance, cleanliness and general appearance of organizational assets.  May lead, plan and organize environment services.



  1. Prepares and administers annual budgets and is responsible for coordinating new construction and renovations, operation, security, maintenance and repair of all facilities and grounds. 
  2. Aware of and fulfills legal, professional, regulatory agency and institutional responsibilities. 
  3. Approves staffing requirements; develops job design and training standards; evaluates performance and initiates various personnel actions.  
  4. Responsible for timely and consistent completion of standards of safety and disaster preparedness guidelines. 
  5. Functions as construction manager, as required, and oversees the design, development and implementation of construction and remodeling projects including budgets, bids, specifications and certifications. 
  6. Establishes and administers physical asses control, preventative maintenance procedures and systems covering all buildings, grounds, vehicles and equipment. 
  7. May be responsible for oversight and management of laundry services.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.




  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training and experience.



  • Five years facility management experience within the healthcare industry.



  • Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license. 



  • Proficient with MSOffice applications
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes, regulations, laws, construction techniques
  • Knowledge of hospital plant operations and maintenance associated equipment



  • Work requires normal amounts of physical effort.   
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 50 lbs. or less.          
  • Work requires frequent exposure to minor cold, heat, poor ventilation or sharp instruments. Reasonably anticipated exposure to blood and body fluids daily.      
  • Job duties frequently require intense concentration and attention to detail (34-65% of work time).
