Director of Marketing & Brand

PeaceHealth is seeking a Director of Marketing & Brand for a 1.0 full time equivalent Exempt position. This position will be working Day shift with shift durations of 8 Hours.

Position is responsible for building PeaceHealth’s brand identity and marketing strategy across channels including branding, content, public relations/media relations, caregiver and provider communications and creative execution across the healthcare system. Responsible for driving strategy that supports building a strong PeaceHealth brand and collaborates with local teams to uniquely differentiate within communities.
This position collaborates cross-functionally with key stakeholders to understand and drive business initiatives through brand storytelling. Demonstrates proven experience building teams of storytellers and managing agencies to deliver innovative messaging, content and creative platforms that enhance brand reputation across earned, owned, paid and social media channels. Responsible for being a guardian of PeaceHealth’s Mission and brand voice and delivers marketing and communications that create a positive and transparent culture within the organization.


1.  Works collaboratively to direct the creation, execution and evolution of a cohesive brand strategy across the healthcare system.

2.  Defines and develops value proposition, messaging, visual style, tone and editorial direction for the PeaceHealth brand with both internal and external audiences.

3.  Leads the marketing and digital team at the system-level and collaborates with local teams to drive to achievement of business goals.
4.  Develops and executes marketing strategies to enhance regional and national visibility for the brand and collaborates with the system communications team and networks teams to strengthen brand reputation in our communities.

5.  Develops a communications platform for consumer r and clinician engagement that delivers meaningful content and fosters storytelling at all levels of the organization.  Collaborates with the director of strategic communications to ensure robust caregiver engagement and communications efforts.
6.  Crafts an executive platform for the leadership team that conveys the Mission and values of the brand, both internally and externally, and drives thought leadership in industry forums.
7.  Oversees and tailors the brand content strategy across channels, including brand level campaigns and content creation. Collaborate with network teams and system teams to ensure sharing of ideas and consistency of message.

8.  Drives engagement via website, digital, email, social and traditional channels with content and creative to meet organizational goals.
9.  Leverages market research and analysis on brand awareness, recognition, audience insights and caregiver engagement to inform strategy and execution.

10.  Identifies, onboards and manages key agency, service provider and partner relationships. Manages partnerships to budget and timelines.
11.  Establishes key metrics to demonstrate growth and expansion of overall brand presence.
12.  Creates and manages budgets, deadlines, objectives.
13.  Manages and leads a high-performance team by coaching and developing existing members and closing talent gaps where needed.
14.  Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS Required unless otherwise stated.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related field equivalent is required. Master’s degree or MBA a plus.


     Minimum of 7 years of leadership experience in strategic communications or marketing required.
 Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience required.
 Healthcare experience a plus.
 Agency experience a plus.


     Superior written and verbal communication skills and strong knowledge of current media landscape.
 Ability to work collaboratively with senior level executives and various stakeholder groups.
 Demonstrated ability to work across functions within and outside of Marketing, building relationships to drive results.
 Proven track record of working in a fast-paced environment with multiple varying projects at a given time.
 Ability to build, motivate and inspire diverse and highly productive, collaborative teams.
 Ability to deliver financial results for areas of accountability.
