Government Affairs Regulatory Manager

PeaceHealth is seeking a Government Affairs Regulatory Manager for a 1.0 full time equivalent Exempt position. This position will be working Day shift with shift durations of 8 Hours.

Responsible for the proper assignment and monitoring of regulatory matters across PeaceHealth to ensure they are assigned and handled by the appropriate individual(s) and monitors such work to ensure progress is satisfactory and completed.


Responsible for ensuring all regulatory matters are handled with consistency, comprehensiveness, and appropriate subject matter experts and legal involvement



1. Monitors regulatory and legislative changes and assures that all issues are landing in appropriate place(s) for implementation.  Analyzes changes to regulatory updates.

2. Assures proper government affairs, organizational integrity and legal teams’ involvement and review to ensure need for any controls or ongoing monitoring are in place.

3. Provides consultation to leadership regarding compliance to regulatory requirements.

4. Monitors and assures approvals are obtained at the proper level and by the appropriate system or network executive(s).

5. Coordinates with appropriate system/network executive(s) to facilitate PeaceHealth advocacy with government agencies on prospective regulatory changes.

6. Facilitates regular reports to system leadership on regulatory implementation efforts.

7. Coordinates with the Project Management organization for large scale, multi-departmental implementation projects.

8. Coordinates database and information technology product for monitoring regulatory and legislative changes.

9. Participates in drafting and writing testimony.

10. Attends rule making advisory committee meetings and helps facilitate and track committee meeting minutes.

11. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Required unless otherwise stated


  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Public Policy, Government Affairs, Business Administration, Communications or related field required.



  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in regulatory compliance, government relations and/or inside the legislative, executive, or congressional processes.



  • Working knowledge of legislative and regulatory process with experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.  Must be able to effectively interact with government officials as well as PeaceHealth leaders, staff, and the public.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and integrity and deal appropriately with highly sensitive information.
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to change and ambiguity.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and juggle conflicting priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications.
  • Ability to travel required.
