Manager of Development Annual Giving

PeaceHealth is seeking a Manager of Development Annual Giving for a 1.0 full time equivalent Exempt position. This position will be working Day shift with shift durations of 8 Hours.

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive annual giving program that will include donor acquisition and retention through traditional and innovative annual giving strategies. Leverages the best channels per the audience type (channels include direct mail, online, social media, text, and telephone) creating highly personalized and targeted appeals to maximize engagement and financial impact. Strengthens donor relations, effectively steward, and provide a multi-million-dollar source of fundraising at the annual giving level. Supervises annual giving staff. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Provides over-all long term and short-term strategic direction for PeaceHealth’s Foundations’ annual giving program.
  2. Develops measurable program goals and objectives for the annual giving program. In conjunction with local foundation leaders, establishes annual revenue goals.
  3. Leads annual strategic planning process for all foundations in close collaboration with foundation leadership and development officers.  Leads the caregiver campaigns at the local and system level.
  4. Develops annual business plans and presents them to Foundations leadership and the Philanthropy Leadership Council.
  5. Develops regular reporting tools and analysis of individual foundation’s annual giving performance, ensuring consistency and standards across the system.
  6. Develops and executes programs and strategies to foster digital engagement and thereby increase annual support to help build a pipeline for major gifts.
  7. Establishes standard definitions, metrics, and analysis for all annual giving programs.
  8. Develops and implements complex analyses to determine opportunities for increased fundraising (donors and dollars) performance.  Develops new metrics to support donor pipeline development in annual, major, and planned giving.
  9. Supervises, mentors and evaluates the annual giving staff.
  10. Provides status reports to the local foundation executives and leadership on progress and financial results on a quarterly basis.
  11. Develops and monitors related budgets, ensuring budget adherence within acceptable standards. 
  12. Performs other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, non-profit management, fundraising, communications or related field required. 
  • Certified as a Fund Raising Executive (CFRE)-preferred

 

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

  • Minimum of 5 years of foundations development experience with experience leading multi-million-dollar annual fundraising efforts in a mission driven environment
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience
  • Skill at managing a multi-unit, complex environment, resulting in significant improved development performance and growth
  • First-hand experience engaging constituents and donors through strategic marketing and communications
  • Experience in high achievement and meeting or exceeding goals
  • Experience and comfort working with complex metrics and analysis 

 
OTHER SKILLS:

  • Ability to utilize digital analytics tools, predictive modeling, social media mining, marketing automation, segmentation, and other data-driven techniques
  • Ability to lead and manage a team who reside in multiple localities
  • Ability to think strategically, creatively and innovatively and develop strategic plans
  • Professional and collegial demeanor and ability to exercise diplomacy
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills in order to effectively plan and implement fundraising events
  • Program management skills to manage daily operations and overseeing personnel or volunteers
  • Negotiating skills to successfully solicit donations
  • Entrepreneurial team player who has a commitment to and passion for the mission of PeaceHealth
  • Ability to work with volunteers
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Working knowledge of fundraising software such as Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge 

 

SHARED SERVICES PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work requires fairly light physical exertion from up to 65% of the time
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 30 lbs. or less
  • Work is performed under normal working conditions with adequate lighting and ventilation.
  • Job duties frequently require intense concentration and attention to detail (up to 65% of work time).
