Service Desk Level 2 Analyst

PeaceHealth is seeking a Service Desk Level 2 Analyst for a 1.0 full time equivalent Non-Exempt position. This position will be working Day shift with shift durations of 8 Hours.

JOB SUMMARY
Provides advanced technical support and assistance to end-users of all levels, with a broad variety of hardware and software issues. Provides proactive monitoring and technical analysis of issues related to network, server and data center infrastructure.  Position will also provide first and second tier technical support, as well as, researching resolving and escalating IT issues when necessary.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Handles tier 1 Service Desk escalations and problem resolution for end-user, system and network issues through ticketing or phone system.  Follows up on outstanding requests and ensures timely resolution.
2. Monitors information and network systems including telecommunications circuits, data center, LAN/WAN systems, routers, switches, firewalls, VoIP systems, servers, storage, backups, operating systems and core applications.  Responds to alerts and take appropriate actions per standard operating procedures.
3. Performs installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of end user worksation, server hardware, software and peripheral devices including Windows Server, Exchange Server and client Operating Systems.

4. Monitors and manages system backups and restores.
5.    Supports Microsoft products including, Office Pro Plus, Office 365 and a variety of other applications.
6. Provides escalation status notifications throughout the organization on service impacting events.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS


EDUCATION: Associates Degree in Computer Science or a related field; may substitute equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training and experience. 


EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

• Minimum of 4 years experience in escalated IT Service Desk operations (i.e. providing end-user support for desktop and application software, or 4 years installing, upgrading, troubleshooting and repairing personal computers and printers in a network environment)
• Experience with technical support of Windows Desktop, Windows/Unix Servers and network infrastructure.


LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) or equivalent.


OTHER SKILLS

• Excellent communication skills, analytical skills, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to build, configure, and install Windows Desktop, Server and related peripherals.
• Ability to troubleshoot LAN/WAN networks.
• Ability to troubleshoot domain networks, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, etc..
• Ability to troubleshoot backup solutions.
• Good knowledge of security and data privacy principals.
• Excellent customer service skills, with the drive to excel in a prompt and courteous fashion.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative manner.
• Ability to exercise good judgment in analyzing, appraising, evaluating and solving problems of a difficult procedural or technical nature.
