System Director Employee Health

PeaceHealth is seeking a System Director Employee Health for a 1.0 full time equivalent Exempt position. This position will be working Day shift with shift durations of Variable.

Provides strategic leadership to Employee Health services across all PeaceHealth locations.   Manages the design, structure, development and planning issues within scope of direction.  Responsible for operational performance including quality, service, and regulatory compliance for areas of responsibility. Works collaboratively with key stakeholders including infection prevention, clinical leadership and others to ensure a high performing function.


Defines and implements best practices and processes to reduce and eliminate caregiver exposures and injuries and incorporates appropriate vaccination and prevention strategies.  Ensures that PeaceHealth has accurate methods of surveillance and reporting of infection rates to meet and/or exceed all regulatory and accreditation requirements.



  1. Provides leadership and direction to the Employee Health caregivers across the system in implementing best practices, standardizing workflows, process redesign and improving outcomes.  Assists key stakeholders to drive clinical process and outcome improvement. Promotes collaboration and removes obstacles to effective teamwork. 
  2. Works collaboratively with key stakeholders to build a strong culture for caregiver health.  Provides consultation and support on key clinical best practices and processes related to employee health. Collaborates with key stakeholders to immunize caregiver workforce to reduce exposure to healthcare acquired infections resources.
  3. Provides clinical and operational leadership to Employee Health Departments including oversight of vaccinations, respiratory protection program and other required compliance programs.
  4. Develops, implements and maintains PeaceHealth system-wide Employee Health, policies, standards, processes and procedures.
  5. Oversees, manages, and coordinates system strategic initiatives and activities in support of overall employee health.
  6. Develops annual budget and other financial measures and reports for Employee Health departments.  Manages financial performance and delivering financial results.
  7. Ensures that PeaceHealth meets all applicable regulatory reporting requirements related to Employee Health.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.



The following areas directly report to this position:

  • Manager, Employee Health for the Oregon and Northwest Networks
  • Columbia Network Employee Health staff including RNs and Employee Health Coordinators




  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a healthcare related discipline required.
  • Master’s degree required or a combination of education and professional experience that provides the caregiver with the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the job.



  • Minimum of 7 years of employee or occupational health experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience required.
  • Experience in program development preferred.
  • Knowledge and training in process improvement and lean concepts highly desired



  • Must have current RN licensure as required by state to practice.
  • Current BLS required at date of hire.
  • Occupational Health Nursing certification preferred.

  • Work requires fairly light physical exertion from up to 65% of the time.    
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 30 lbs. or less.          
  • Work is performed under normal working conditions with adequate lighting and ventilation.        
  • Job duties frequently require intense concentration and attention to detail (up to 65% of work time).
